Gelcoat is a material used to provide a high-quality finish on the visible surface of a fibre-reinforced composite material. Many marine craft and aircraft are manufactured using composite materials with an outer layer of gelcoat. Gelcoats are designed to be durable, providing resistance to ultraviolet degradation and hydrolysis. It is finished in white and is not neccessary to paint.

Polyurethane is a flexible material that doesn't crack on mild shocks like fiberglass, but it returns in its previous position.

Every Performance winch is completely hand assembled and each part is triple checked. We use special lubricant on both sides of the gearbox. Every Performance winch is bench tested and does not leave the bench until it meets our stringent quality controls and achieves the desired high performance and speed

HOUSING
Made from high strength aluminium alloy, En 6802 - AlMgSi1, complete with anodised surface protection.

GEARS
Made from alloy carbon steel 20MnCr5, heat treated, tempered and hardened on 62HRc. The gears are precision engineered on special Reishauer machines for a super smooth finish.

DRUM & SHAFT
Positioned between two giant SKF waterproof bearings. The drum side panels are made from 10 mm navy steel and then precisely machined to 8 mm on each side. The shaft is made of high strength 12 mm bright drawn steel (42CrMo4)
